TECH-INFO: TWO-STAGE PISTON COMPRESSORS
A two-stage compressor has two cylinders arranged in series, which compress the air in two steps to the final pressure. In between, the compressed air is cooled with air. This improves efficiency, and at the same time a higher pressure can be achieved than with a single-stage compressor.
