Produkthighlights ELMAG Mark Adsorptionstrockner ADS 7
ADS SERIES
A compressor absorbs moisture from the intake air, which turns into condensate during compression. This leads to wear and corrosion on downstream equipment, with potentially costly interruption to production and a reduction in the efficiency and life of the equipment used. Adsorption dryers provide a solution to prevent these negative effects.
APPLICATIONS FOR ADS DRYERS
- Chemical and pharmaceutical industry
- petrochemical industry
- Food industry
- Transport of hygroscopic materials
- Quality paint shop
- Textile production
- Semiconductor
- Cable pressurisation
- Beer and beverage production
- Applications in low temperature environments
- When a pressure dew point of less than +3°C is required (-40°C or -70°C)
OPERATION OF THE ADSORPTION DRYERS
MARK ADS adsorption dryers remove water vapour that may condense in your compressed air system and cause damage. These dryers use an adsorbent material called "desiccant" to absorb and remove the moisture from the compressed air (through regeneration phases). This method achieves a DTP of < 3°C (-40°C or -70°C). This range of values should also be used when the ambient temperature drops below freezing to avoid the formation of ice in pipes and applications. The ADS range is typically used in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries and whenever a DTP of < 3°C is required.
Adsorption removes residual moisture in the air, which condenses even after a refrigeration dryer. The technology "simulates" a temperature drop to -40°C to -70°C by collecting and binding moisture in the desiccant medium (moisture freezes when the actual temperature is lowered by +3°C) and condenses even the last water from the air. The moisture is removed from the air stream towards your circuit and discharged. Adsorption dryers are suitable for the most demanding applications where there must be no moisture at all.
DRYING PHASE
Moist air from the compressor is passed through the inlet filter (1), which removes oil, and enters Tower A. The desiccant contained in this filter adsorbs moisture. The desiccant contained in it adsorbs the water vapour molecules. After a fixed or variable time (depending on the saturation of the desiccant), the inlet valve (2) diverts the air flow from tower A to tower B and B becomes the active tower.
REGENERATION PHASE
During the drying phase in tower A, part of the dry air is diverted to the top of tower B where it extracts the water vapour contained in the desiccant. During this phase, tower B is open to the atmosphere, allowing the purge air to expand. The silencers (3) at the outlet ensure quiet operation.
PRESSURISATION PHASE
Once regeneration has been carried out and tower B is pressurised again, the inlet valve (2) changes the air flow again.
