The linear encoders of the GS series are precise measuring systems for linear movements. The mechanical construction of the scanning unit is designed with miniature ball bearings with independent guidance, which compensates for the unevenness of the machine guideway due to inaccurate mounting or wear.
The scanning head reads between a pair of rubber lips that protect the sensitive part of the system from damage and other influences, e.g. coolant.
