log band saw
If larger logs or complete tree trunks have to be sawn repeatedly, then a log band saw is indispensable. With a log band saw, large tree trunks or voluminous logs can be sawn into individual boards safely, precisely and quickly. And depending on the log band saw, this can be done with only one woman or one man as operator. Depending on the log band saw manufacturer, these machines work partially or fully automatically.
BHM Maschinen offers an extensive portfolio of log band saws from different manufacturers in various performance classes. A Bernardo log band saw or Holzmann log band saw from our range enables flexible use and reliable processing of logs and timber blocks. We also offer suitable accessories such as band saw blades or a roller conveyor extension for a Bernardo log band saw or BAMATO log band saw in our online shop at a favourable price.

Frequently asked questions about the log band saw:
What are the different types of log band saw?
In principle, there is only one type of log band saw. A log bandsaw always consists of the sawing unit, a roller conveyor and a clamping carriage. The bandsaw is driven either by an electric motor or a petrol engine, depending on the log bandsaw manufacturer. A log band saw driven by a petrol engine, for example the Bernardo log band saw BBS 600 B or the BAMATO log band saw BBSW-750G with petrol engine and E-start are suitable for outdoor use even in bad weather conditions. Apart from that, log band saws only differ in terms of sawing capacity. That is, the size of the logs or timber blocks that can be processed is more or less limited, depending on the machine. How does a log band saw work, what is it used for?
Basically, a log band saw works like a conventional band saw. The tool is a flexible, endless saw band that runs over two rollers. In the area between the rollers, the saw band can be used to saw the material. In the case of a log band saw, this is usually a larger block of wood or a tree trunk. In principle, a log band saw works like a gang saw. However, like a gang saw with only one saw blade.
With a log band saw, long logs or large logs can be sawn up on the left side and made into boards or planks. The saw blade is fed in a vertical direction. The workpiece, i.e. the log or tree trunk, is fixed on a so-called clamping carriage. The clamping carriage moves in the direction of the saw blade. In the process, a board is sawn off. The clamping carriage then moves back, the saw blade is fed further down and the process starts all over again.
